Australian Narelle Dore studied at the highly respected Fashion Department of Antwerp's Royal Academy of Fine Art, where her graduation collection, Knock on Wood, was inspired by tree carvings and displayed her skill in boxy forms, inventive cuts, sharp lines, and woodsy, detailed knitting. For the project, Narelle wanted to create a "winter t-shirt" that would reemphasize the basic white t-shirt's comfort and coziness. Inspired by Kurdish villagers' felted coats, Narelle experimented with felt herself to construct the cozy winter t-shirt while utilizing white t-shirt jersey to develop a set of accessories. Using the white t-shirt as her departure point, Narelle ultimately combined these creations to create a unique showpiece.
