Slow and Steady Wins the Race re-examines the fundamentals of design with bimonthly production series that concentrate on a specific idea or theme. By paring down pieces to the simplest fabrics, Slow and Steady Wins the Race allows the fundamental design of each piece to stand out while keeping production cost low. In this way, the label encourages the appreciation of progressive fashion by making it both accessible and unique while quietly introducing change to fashion norms and expectations. For the project, Slow and Steady's designer considered Project White T-Shirt's ultimate goal of donating to Designers Against Aids and sought to express comfort and support in her piece. She created a set of three t-shirt pillows, each retaining the t-shirts' original collars, sleeves, and material, and effectively combined two symbols of comfort in one design. *Photo used on the index page is Slow and Steady Wins the Race’s issue N°19 Faux Fox Stole. | |||
